Please submit one piece of fiction and/or nonfiction at a time, or four poems (submitted in a single document - see genre guidelines). We also accept reviews and commentary (see the forms below). Our response time can run from a few weeks to a few months. Feel free to query (info@greenbriarreview.com) after four months. We do not accept previously published material. We do accept, however, unsolicited simultaneous submissions, but please inform us immediately if the work has been accepted elsewhere by withdrawing the piece from Submittable.

Green Briar Review simply asks for first serial rights and to keep your work in our archives online, with the potential—in the future (hopefully not so distant)—to publish your material in print (in which case you would be notified and we would ask permission). All rights revert back to the author upon publication: you retain ownership of your work.  If you do decide to reprint material we have published, please mention that the work first appeared in Green Briar Review.

You're welcome to include a bio with your cover letter.  We'll want one once your work is accepted.

Your submission should be double-spaced (for prose; poetry has no such requirement), size 12 font, Times New Roman. On the first page, include your name, email address, phone number, and a word count. This is relatively standard, but the uniformity makes reading submissions much easier. And we’ll like you a lot for that.
